Esprit S2.2 From Uk To Italy

HI,

I'm in Italy and I have just bought a Lotus Esprit S2.2 1981 from UK.

I want to restore it as soon as possible, but I want to convert the engine to HC specifications.

So, if someone has info and tips about that I'll be very happy.

I need to know how many parts I must change and an estimate cost for the complete work.

I have seen the Lotusbits site, very good upgrade but someone know something about reliability?

Welcome to the forum. Not sure how much it will cost you to convert the engine but I know that there are a few on here that have done it and I am sure they will be able to help!

I hope to receive a lot of post about it, even if I don't know when I will be able to start the restoration.

Anyway I must organize every details because in Italy it's impossible to find Lotus spares and info.

If someone knows where I can find a copy or used Esprit Parts list I think it could be a big help for me.

Hi Giorgio

I "bought" that car off Ebay last year, but decided against it after the seller talked about the welding needed to the chassis tube adjacent the exhaust manifold (this was not stated in the Ebay advert!). A real shame as seeing a Gold S2 is what got me into Esprits in the first place...good luck with your restoration, please supply lots of pictures.
