Possible Oil leakage at the end of the camshaft cover

Recommended Posts

I have oil leakage that looks like it comes from the end of the camshaft cover. It looks like a cover, but it has no screws. Can i fiddle around with a screwdriver and maybe get the cap if it is a cover?

The screws you see are those that hold the heatplate to protect against heat from the turbo.

Hi Anders.  It is a cover held in place by the shield assembly, and can be removed.  Gently ease it away with a small screwdriver or other flat blade, and it will move back over the studs.  There's a rubber seal inside.  However, the leak may be from the mating face between cam tower and head.  Try checking it with light and mirror.
