Well maybe not that new an owner, I've had the car since March this year, but due to other circumstances I've only managed to complete just shy of 300 miles in it this year. I know 😲 The picture

Remember it well when Mark had it up for sale earlier in the year. Always thought it had potential and great to see someone looking to take it back to its best👏🏻

Welcome to TLF Tom. :welcome:

Is that Norfolk Mustard? I really think that colour looks great on an Esprit.

Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help. :)

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

I was wondering when she was gonna appear again 👍

keep the pictures rolling and keep working on her. Brakes will sadly always be shit unless you ditch the ABS system and fit a servo

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

@Giniw I have already replaced the pipe to the charcoal canister. It too was pretty ropey, but thanks for the info all the same.

@ramjet Yes it is Norfolk Mustard. It wasn't my first choice of colour but you can't be too choosey when buying second hand, especially with such a low volume car. That said I agree it it suits the car, it certainly stands out and it's growing on me.

Do I take it that means this car is known then? The history that came with it is very patchy so I don't really know a great deal about it.

It was sold by Mark at Stocks as you know. It had a fair few folks interested and commenting when it went up for sale. Was certainly one of the cheapest ways into an S4s you would get

Welcome to TLF Tom.

The ABS system was never the greatest, it was much, much closer to the bottom of the pile that the top. @Chillidoggy have worked very hard on a replacement system which is getting nothing other than glowing reports, it's very much recommended if you want a decent, reliable, safe braking system.

Congrats on the purchase Tom, and I’d be happy to chat about brakes if you feel the need, you can PM, or better still mail me at [email protected]

Thanks.

My pre-purchase research lead me to believe the brakes were far from ideal in general, but at the moment it pulls under hard braking, so I'm going to start with the basics and just get what I have working as well as it can and then I hope to have a good baseline to decide how good/bad the brakes really are and how urgently I'll then have to go about a potential brake conversion relative to all the other jobs that need doing. Certainly sounds like the brake servo is the way to go in the longer term though.
