According to the FIA Official Press Release it looks like we’re going to see Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen driving for Team Lotus in the FIA F1™ World Championship, news also backed up by Mike Gascoyne on Twitter.
FIA entry list just published and Team Lotus name confirmed along with Jarno and Heikki, great news for the team
This ends the months of speculation and no doubt heated debates at the highest levels both in England where Group Lotus and Team Lotus are based and in Malaysia, where the parent companies, sponsors, backers and politicians are located. Team Lotus have also confirmed that they’ll be racing in the iconic black and gold colour scheme last worn by the Lotus 79 in the late seventies.
Team Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen will be hoping to improve on his 2010 season best of 12th in Japan despite knocking himself out after a crash in his R8 at the Race of Champions this week. Trulli, whose car suffered many reliability problems this year will be looking forward to getting his hands on the 2011 car which the team have been working on since late August and the Belgium GP at Spa, having halted further development of the 2010 car to concentrate on next years efforts.
We’ll update this story and news unfolds but it’s good news for all Lotus fans in our opinion. Please leave us your comments below.
