With over 10,000 performers from 20 countries taking part and a crowd of 500,000 lining the streets of London you’ll not be surprised to hear that this is the biggest event the capital hosts after the London Marathon. Also showing to an expected TV audience of 200,000,000* (yes, 200 million) live on 600 channels worldwide you can imagine the honour it is to be involved in such a prestigious event.

With this year being the Parade’s 25th Anniversary, Lotus-On-Track and were asked back for the ninth year and this time tasked with finding 25 cars, this time with the help of The Lotus Forums! With the Lotus convey being led by the stylish Exos Evora, it was followed by 3 Esprits (Sport350, GT3 & S3 NA), 2 Elise Trophy race cars, more Elise’s and Exige’s (including a stunning S1), a new Europa, 340r, Lotus Carlton and several M100 Elans. All cars were covered in bunting, flags and Union Jack windsocks to join in with the fun and an S2 Elise was driven by 2 bears, a real couple of crowd pleasers!

Setting off from Piccadilly, the route was a short and slow drive to Parliament Square via Regents St, Pall Mall and Whitehall however with the massive numbers involved, the last people were arriving 3 hours after the first set off. With huge crowds lining the entire route cheering on the cars it was great fun to be a part of the parade, there was great recognition and noise as we passed.

Thanks to all who attended and made the day the fun that it was and to the organisers at www.londonparade.co.uk You can view the parade on TV on Monday the 3rd at 5pm on Information TV – Sky Channel 166.

Hopefully we’ll be back again in 2012.
