Following its successful 24-hour racing début, the famous number 2 car, which has played host to Martin Donnelly, Wing Commander Andy Green OBE and Jake Humphrey has been entered in the 24 Hours of Barcelona. The race has been held for several years but this year will be running to the same rules as the 24 Hours of Dubai, making it an obvious choice.  Earlier this year James Knight, Pete Storey, Ken Savage and Simon Phillips steered the car to fifth in class at Dubai, aided by a team of series regulars.

The race will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya, host to the Spanish Grand Prix and now the focus of the motor racing world as the last Formula 1 pre-season test session reaches its conclusion.  The technical nature of a track that has established a reputation as the finest test of a chassis should suit the nimble car.

With such a strong finish for the lowest power and budget operation in the field on its round-the-clock début, the team are sure to be aiming higher this time. Taking place on the 23, 24 and 25 September, between the Zolder and Spa-Francorchamps races it’s expected a large number of Elise Trophy followers will be spending the weekend in the great city of Barcelona supporting the team.
