An exciting National racing driver competition is announced this week which is sure to get the adrenalin pumping for all budding Lewis Hamilton’s and Jenson Button’s. Pole Position Indoor Karting (PPiK), the North’s leading indoor karting & conference venue, launch Want2Race – a new competition that will transform a hidden driver talent into a real racing driver star.

The competition invites all motor racing, karting and track day enthusiasts to enter and they can get to drive up to three race prepared Lotus cars out on a real racing circuit. The assessment day takes place at the UK’s newest motor racing circuit, Blyton Park in Lincolnshire, on Friday 28th October 2011.

All cars used in want2race are real race cars driven in the 2011 Elise Trophy, supplied and supported by the race winning team ES Motorsport from Norwich. The 160bhp racers are capable of an impressive 0-60mph in under 6 seconds, and will have been in action at Brands Hatch and Spa-Francorchamps just before the competition date.

Drivers from all over the UK will take part in various driving experiences on and off circuit at Blyton Park, all with the aim of being the most improved driver on the day and impressing the judges. Want2race will ultimately transform one enthusiast into a MSA racing car driver. The lucky winner will drive a Lotus Elise race car in the leading single make club racing series, the Lotus Elise Trophy – making this one of the most exciting driving competitions the UK has seen – and a prize worth in excess of £3,000.

Ben Hyland, the competition’s organiser explains more: “want2race is a unique and cost effective way of anyone over 21 getting into a real racing car – not something you can do every day!  We’ll have plenty of action out on circuit for all entrants, plus some fun driving activities and experienced race drivers and instructors on hand offering valuable support and driver coaching.”

Want2Race is at Blyton Park circuit in Lincolnshire on Friday 28th October 2011. Entry costs £145 and includes driving up to three race prepared Lotus Elise cars, tuition & coaching, fun driving challenges and lunch for participants.

Paul Golding, founder of the Lotus Elise Trophy, adds, “PPiK and ES Motorsport have created a great platform for drivers to experience what our race series is all about, and get to drive these fantastic cars that people can see on TV or live at all the major UK & European circuits.”

All driver entries must be submitted online by 14th October 2011 with full details being found on www.want2race.co.uk

More information can be found on the PPiK website (www.ppik.net) and on the Elise Trophy website (www.elisetrophy.com), and the prize winning car will be on display at PPiK in Leeds.
