Of the many great Lotus images posted on Facebook this month this dazzling Evora GT racer really stood out. We’re very grateful to photographer Alex Hill for shooting it and sharing it with us. With it’s clever ‘Gold and Black’ reverse twist on the iconic Team Lotus race livery, this Evora GT racer looks like a million bucks from every angle, as you’ll see when you take a look at Alex’s other shots from the shoot here. Choosing just one wasn’t easy but it sounds like shooting a gold foil wrapped Evora was harder still:
Alex: “The shot was taken just after dark, we wheeled the car outside where it had been raining and light painted the front side of the car using a fluorescent tube. I didn’t expect the spot lights to come on outside, but it gave a nice feel in the end and makes the lighting believable – like the spot lights are solely lighting the car.
We took some shots of the brake light flaring up the back wall and an exposure for the LED fairy lights which are a really nice touch. This was possibly the hardest finish that I’ve ever had to photograph because it’s literally like a mirror, it reflects everything but it’s a unique take on the Lotus colours being predominantly gold and black. The car is really a statement of how good Will Taylor (owner of William Charles Automotive) is, the gold finish is stunning and little details like the union flag on the rear wing end plates really will set this car apart from the rest of the pack. It’s also loud, very very loud.“
