Hexagon Lotus bought stars past and present from the world of F1 to pay tribute to the great Ayrton Senna in an evening arranged by the company’s Chairman, Paul Michaels. With Natalie Pinkman of Sky F1 as host for the event; Paddy Lowe, Patrick Head, David Coulthard, John Watson and Lotus’s own Martin Donnelly were joined by Manish Pandey, Writer and Director of “Senna”. Also present was Lotus F1 Team’s development driver Carmen Jorda along with a capacity audience who were privileged to enjoy the panel discuss their personal and researched experienced with Senna with some amazing insight into a man who truly is one of F1’s greatest ever drivers.
After the panel took a number of questions from the floor, COYS were on hand to auction a number of lots with all proceeds going to 2 charities; Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. A huge £72,000 was elicited from the crowd and lots included some amazing items such as a Senna replica crash helmet which would be signed by Lewis Hamilton at this weekend’s British GP, 4 VIP tickets with champagne reception with Bernie Ecclestone at the race, Eddie Jordan’s watch, some exceptional original artwork and much more.
Hexagon Lotus was also lucky enough to have the new Lotus 3-Eleven on site along with Senna’s Lotus 99T Camel liveried F1 car. The guests enjoyed the opportunity to get a closer look at Lotus’s newest addition to the range and their sales team were on hand to answer any questions about the ‘Giant Slayer’ as Lotus have referred to it! A fantastic opportunity to see the car up close after what was a terrific and very memorable evening of F1 entertainment.
