At long last, the car that’s won just about everything else, wins PoTM! Surprisingly perhaps, we haven’t featured the iconic Seven here before now, that’s mainly because great images of this particular Lotus legend seem to be in short supply. Fortunately, David Schultz had other ideas. Taken at the Sonoma Raceway near San Francisco it really captures the purity, intensity and union of man and machine that remains unmatched in the automotive world. While some may be surprised that the Seven, originally sold in kit form as far back as 1957, is still in production today (as a Caterham), anyone who’s driven one in anger will know why. There is still nothing quite like them.
