I arrived for my test drive and went to reception. I then had to wait for about 30-40 minutes until someone was available to show me the car and go for a drive. When that did happen they weren’t really interested in my questions and the attitude can best be described as ‘take it or leave it’. Not a great experience and not a dealer I’d go back to.

Allon White are brilliant. They have serviced my Elise and Esprit for the past 3 years or so and they have done a great job. Their charges are reasonable and they have been really helpful and go out of their way time and again to make life easier and get my cars fixed.
For example the recent Esprit MOT took about 2-3 months to resolve parts issues, but they were brilliantly helpful throughout and charged me closer to the time that jobs should have taken, rather than what they actually did take on a car where bolts are now rusted solid! Another example was when my Elise steering rack failed its MOT with them, but they moved jobs around to allow my car to stay on a ramp for 3 days while I got the rack refurbed, saving me hundreds over a new rack that could have been there next day. John even offered his old Elise rack in case mine couldn’t be refurbed. As you can see, it’s this type of really good service that makes them so special. Sometimes I’ve turned up and they’re running a bit late so the car might not have been cleaned – if that’s what matters to you, stick to a main dealer. If you want someone who does a great job on servicing your car, look no further.

I also bought a 2.5 year old Evora via Aimee and again I have nothing but praise for the whole team. My snag list on the car was extensive (I know I’m a bit of a pain in the butt to deal with), but they patiently resolved every one and I was both happy and impressed. One item on my snag list recently re-emerged out of warranty but they shared the cost with Lotus, demonstrating again that they care about their customer relationships and honoring their product and service standards. I’ve dealt with most of the southern Lotus dealers over the past 14 years of Lotus ownership and I’d rate them as one of the best.
