SJ Sports Cars are independant Lotus specialists, providing car spares, parts and accessories for sale worldwide, and servicing and repairs in the United Kingdom. Our Aims are to provide Lotus owners with top quality service, spares, parts and repairs for a wide range of models that include the Elan (Series 1, 2, 3, 4), Elan Sprint, Elise (Series 1 & 2), Elite, Eclat, Esprit (series 1, 2 & 3), Esprit Turbo (pre 1988), Esprit (1988 to 1992), Europa and Excel.

I have used SJ sports cars all the time I have had my esprit 13 years in all, he has always done an excellent job to the highest standard. I have seen cars he has restored from what some people may class as beyond repair. These cars have been to a high standard that lotus would of wished how they should of left the factory. Ross who actually services my car is just like Steve is a true enthusiast for the marque. Steve has also done some re manufactured parts at a fraction of the cost. Top service ….
I’ve known Steve ever since he set up in business and have had various Lotus models serviced there since the 80’s. He is one of the very few people who will give you an honest appraisal of your car and I trust him more than any other specialist to look after my car. To some he can appear rude but its just him being honest and direct and strangely some people can’t seem to cope with that. His website is excellent for parts and delivery is quick when he has them in stock. Ross who services the car does a great job and is very helpful in sorting out any issues with the car. As a lot of parts have now been discontinued Steve makes the effort to get them remanufactured or finds cheaper alternatives. Often these suppliers are outside his control so expect delays on some of the rarer parts.
Some good stuff some wrong stuff. ARB bushes, one right one wrong, sent photo as requested, then sent both back (at my cost of £3.20) received right bushes. As they were quite expensive I asked about their quality control, were they Chinese? no response and no postage refund.
I have always been able to source my requirements from Steve. As an independent operator I have always been pleased with the service I have been given.
Communications can be a little slow by modern day standards, on occasion, but SJ’s have always delivered.
Since I bought my Esprit I have ordered parts six times from SJ. I have send quotes to other suppliers as well, but so far SJ have provided best prices every time.
Service have been very good and delivery times have been reasonable.First warrenty case is now going on, let’s hope that everything is going like it should be.

I’ve bought the bulk of my replacement parts from SJ Sports Cars since buying my Esprit SE in 2011. With the exception of one faulty aftermarket oxygen sensor (which was promptly refunded and replaced with a genuine item) everything I’ve ordered has been up to scratch.
The internet store (a rarity in itself when dealing with Lotus parts suppliers) is a pleasure to use and quite easy to navigate. What’s more the basket function makes life easier with the ability to save and later append to a list of items for purchase.
Placing orders is done fastest by phone and having Steve mail over a confirmation form.
Rude, obnoxious and wonder how he stays in business.
Parts ordered quoted four week turn around, several months later still waiting for parts.
Faulty header tank with leaking welds, clutch repair kit ordered and never turned up. No refund given. Court action commenced to recover monies owed.
