Picture of The Month – September 2016

This month's winner features a number of notable 'firsts'. It's our first winner from Norway. It's definitely the first Exige we've seen with WW2 fighter plane graphics and it's our first PoTM shot on a smartphone. Naturally, it helps having the stunning Lysefjord as a backdrop but it just goes to show that the photographer's eye still counts for more than the photographer's camera. "No" the Lotus fan screams at the thought of the manual gearbox taking another step towards obscurity and who would have thought it from their favourite manufacturer! Panic over, the Exige S Automatic from Lotus is an option, not a requirement. The car is Lotus' answer to the swelling markets worldwide and especially Far East where manual cars just aren't the norm. RSR expand to Iberia

Damien Hirst design on Lotus Cup UK Exige

The Maidstone Sports Cars race team have unveiled a special livery for their Lotus Exige race car, which is competing in this year's Lotus Cup UK Championship. The livery uses a design from acclaimed artist Damien Hirst. The Maidstone Sports Cars Exige has already raced in the opening round of the MSVR-organised Lotus Cup UK Championship at Silverstone. Frezza and Giudici dominate at Lotus Cup Italy opener

This weekend saw the opening of the 2012 Lotus Cup Italy season with a thrilling 15 car race. Lotus Cup UK drivers took part in this first race of the season to support the series and create even greater interest. It was clear from the practice sessions that the cars to watch for were English driver Randal (Lotus Europa), the Frezza-Giudici team (Lotus Evora GT4) and Fumagalli (Lotus 2-Eleven GT4) as they were by far the fastest in practice. The Priocept sponsored Exige has been the leading Lotus throughout 2011 in the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship, battling all season against Ferraris, Porsches, Ginettas and Lambos in three and four hour races. 2005/6 Elise & Exige recalled in the USA

Group Lotus have issued a recall notice for 5,037 Elise & Exige cars due to a potential problem with an oil cooling line failing at the crimped joint which could lead to a potential accident or fire due to oil spraying over the engine bay and possibly onto the tyres. This potential problem only affects model year 2005 & 2006 cars in the Federal market, we've been informed that non-USA cars do not have any similar issues.
