Oakmere Lotus Winter Warmer Open Day – 19/02/17

Oakmere Lotus are holding their first open day of 2017 on Sunday February 19th from 10.30 to around 1.30 and everyone’s invited. Brooke edges Hannam to claim second Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship title

The Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship season reached an exciting climax at Brands Hatch on 29 October, with the Production championship up for grabs between frontrunner Nigel Hannam and 2014 overall champion Xavier Brooke. With its iconic status, vast motorsport heritage and famous sweeping Paddock Hill bend, Brands Hatch was the ideal location for a showdown. Lotus Cup Europe 2017 provisional calendar released

The 2017 Lotus Cup Europe provisional calendar has been released, and the FIA International Series will visit seven of the continent's classic circuits in Germany, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom. Lotus Cup Europe will continue a tradition of supporting prestigious events, commencing with the annual Hockenheim Historic meeting in Germany in April. Hexagon Lotus help the Queen celebrate her 90th birthday

On Saturday October 15th 2016, British classic vehicles with combined valuations of £19,033,150 lined up on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace to help commemorate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty. They were inspected, on her behalf, by HRH Prince Michael of Kent. Each of the ninety vehicles was manufactured in a specific year of her life, and represented that year. Earl’s Court Lotus Elan SE Launch Car Rediscovered

The actual vehicle that was unveiled by Lotus CEO, Mike Kimberley, at the 1989 Earls Court British Motor Fair, has recently resurfaced after languishing unused and unloved for several years, having been rescued by Lotus enthusiast and dealer Guy Munday. The oldest surviving prototype (No14) even pre-dates the decision to resurrect the “Elan” name and, therefore, is registered under the project codename “Zante”. Packer doubles up in Le Mans for Lotus Cup Europe

Britain’s Jon Packer celebrated a brace of victories at this weekend’s (8/9 October) final rounds of the 2016 Lotus Cup Europe season, but could not prevent race two winner, France’s Xavier Georges from taking the V6 Cup class title. Packer’s Evora stormed into the lead in the opening race from surprise polesitter, Sweden’s Tommie Eliasson, and Georges, both in Exiges, who would eventually take second place.
