Lipscomb Lotus have made a few changes recently which they hope will tie in with the new momentum seen in the Lotus brand with new owners DRB-Hicom getting truly behind the company to help push forward to the next stage in its life. The Aylesford based showroom has seen some major changes with the Lotus brand now much more prominent with better positioning, more floorspace and a new ‘Lotus Lounge’ area. Also, there’s a marked increase in ‘eye candy’ and they’ve secured for display an Evora GT4 painted in Gulf livery (which yes, is for sale at £125k + VAT!) and the fantastic Evora GTE which is the actual car that raced successfully in the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours as number 65.
Another major change is the new Lotus salesman, Philip Rigby. Phil started his career in the motor industry back in 1990 when at the tender age of 15 he started cleaning the forecourt cars at Fox’s Volvo in Bearsted for pocket money! He was then offered a position on leaving school on the spanners as a vehicle technician, a job he carried on until he was 25 years old. Â Moving through the motor industry, in 1999 he became a service advisor with Piper’s Alfa Romeo (a demanding role!) which taught him the customer service skills he carries into his sales role which he began at Lipscomb in 2007. Â Phil works now on the Lotus brand and carries on his duties with Abarth, a position which he has used to help bring Lipscomb into the top 3 performing dealerships in Europe this year in terms of sales and customer service. Phil also has a passion for cars himself as you can imagine, owning 6 (yes, 6) Alfa Romeo GTV’s including a couple of the very rare Sport models and his dream for Lotus would be to see the Esprit name back on a high end Lotus supercar!
Looking around the showroom Lipscomb have now the new Exige S V6 demonstrator in white which is available to buy, with another demo Exige S on order for delivery next month.  They’ve also got an Exige  Cup in the build list with an expected delivery of  this car in October and that will be a real showstopper in Isotope Green! There’s also the new Elise in stock (Solar Yellow) and an Evora Sports Racer, again in white. If you are looking for a used car, there are 5 more Evora’s available and a 2009 Exige S in Chrome Orange. There’s also an unregistered 2011 Evora 2+0 in Ardent Red for the bargain price of £39k and more used stock on the way! You can find all their cars on their website.
Another appeal to current owners will be the fully transparent pricing in their ‘Fixed Price Servicing’. Lipscomb not only offer this service where the price you see is the price you pay, they also offer a price promise so will match any deals you’re offered from another dealer. Can’t go wrong with that! More details on their website here.
Upcoming events include an open day event on the 20th July in the showroom (details to follow) and some visits with the demo cars to Kent’s very own local race circuit, Brands Hatch. In the meantime, pop down to say hello to Phil and oggle the various Lotus cars on display in the showroom whenever you like, you’ll be made very welcome.
