65 cars will take to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit twice this weekend for a super grid of Lotus Cup Europe, Lotus Cup UK and the Elise Trophy. The home of the Belgian Grand Prix is a permanent fixture on the LoTRDC racing calendar as it’s a firm favourite with the drivers and always provides superb racing.

The Evora class contains a potential winner this weekend as Lotus Motorsport’s Gavan Kershaw returns to the cockpit after his dominant victory at Snetterton – partnered that weekend with Martin Donnelly. However the lack of a Formula One-experienced team mate is unlikely to slow him down and he will join Greg Rasse and Thierry Verheist in the V6-powered class.

2-Eleven hopes come from Lotus Cup Europe winners Remi Pochauvin and Jonathan Walker. They are joined by Lotus Cup UK victors Simon Deacon, Steve Williams and Mark Fullalove, whilst the ever-present Christophe Lisandre is also in attendance. Exige Cup driver John Rasse scored his debut Lotus Cup Europe win at Zolder two weeks ago and he will be keen to add to his trophy cabinet this weekend.

Meanwhile Lotus Cup UK championship leaders Ken Savage and Steve Quick are separated by just nine points and will be fighting it out this weekend. Both are fresh from the Barcelona 24 hour race, in which the former drove for Team LoTRDC, along with James Knight, who is also on the grid and hoping to salvage a decent result from a barren season. With third endurance team member Pete Storey competing in another 24 hour race this weekend, the championship has boiled down to a two-way battle, with just one round remaining after this weekend.
