For the 4th successive year TLF attended and exhibited at the Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC. The UK’s biggest classic car show and indeed one of the biggest automotive events of the year attracting more than 80,000 visitors, the show also boasts more than 1,200 cars on display from clubs all over the country. This year as ever the event was teamed up with the Classic Bike Show and Top Gear Live but the Cars took the largest space of the event filling 7 of the NEC’s 12 halls to capacity. Due to the number of cars on display, attractions such as the Wheeler Dealer live restorations and the huge autojumbles and retail areas it’s a struggle to see it all in a day but it does have something for everyone, without fail!

TLF this year chose a theme of ‘black’ with our cars and had a display of Lotus’s finest. A future classic for sure, we had an Exige GT3 taking pride of place in our tented exhibition area, well lit for pictures and the highlight for many visitors. One of only five made, this 271bhp monster has a sub 4 second 0-60 and another GT3 owner is none other than Red Bulls’ Adrian Newey. Also on display was the concours winning Lotus Sunbeam of Neil Rodway and the immaculate Esprit Sport300 belonging to long time Lotus enthusiast Ken Baird, often a contributor to TLF and Group Lotus exhibition cars. Thanks to all the TLF members and friends of the club who helped make the show the success it was and also to the thousands of visitors to our stand, we hope you all enjoyed the show.

We’re already planning our entrance for 2012, if you’d like to offer a car for display or would like to help us on our stand, please let us know in the comments or on the forums.
