Lotus cars have a large presence at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed. With 4 Evora variants including the standard road car, the Evora Cup, Evora 414E hybrid and the Evora Carbon Concept we first saw at the Geneva Motor show. Also on the Lotus stand is a new Roger Becker Special Edition Elise, a standard 2010MY Elise and Exige Cup 260 and topping off the display is a very impressive Lotus Type 49 roped off in front or a huge image of the Lotus Racing T127 Formula One car, again showing that the race team and car manufacturer are working together at many levels.

Unfortunately we attended on the new day of the show, the Thursday which is billed as the ‘Moving Motorshow’ so not everyone was there and a notable absence was the T127 itself. We assume that since Lotus Racing do have a large presence in the F1 paddock that it will be there for the rest of the show. Classic Team Lotus are next door to their contemporaries with an excellent selection of some of the finest race cars ever made! Further into the show at the Cartier Elegance et Lux exhibition a Lotus Etna (fitted with working V8) rubs shoulders with an impressive array of supercars and design icons from throughout the last century.

Lotus also feature in the Moving Motorshow with 4 Evora’s taking to the famous hill giving potential customers and fans the chance to experience what makes the Evora such an impressive car in a safe environment and enjoy the thrill of high speeds at Goodwood. There is also a very impressive (TLF supplied!) Lotus Esprit S1 in white on the stand which is drawing big crowds and impressive comments about it’s condition. At 34 years old and looking as good as new, you can see that an Esprit is for life, not just for christmas!

Goodwood Festival of Speed continues today, tomorrow and Sunday with the tricolore Evora’s arriving after their mammoth 1,000 mile journey from Turin. More about Lotus can be found on the official Lotus Goodwood website.
