With the UK racing season all but finished for another year, LoTRDC today release their schedule for 2011, including the new Lotus Cup UK Championship. The new series will share venues but not grids with the Elise Trophy, which will continue as the perfect environment for novice drivers and those seeking a friendly, social atmosphere.
Continuing the tradition of high-profile support slots, races are included on the bill of Formula 2 and the DTM. The Lotus Festival will once again take place at Snetterton in midsummer, three months after the new 300 configuration is christened by the inaugural round of Lotus Cup UK. Watch out too for a very special event at Donington Park in August.
Both series’ will visit the epic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, a regular on the Elise Trophy trail in its traditional autumn slot and the Elise Trophy will also cross the channel to the historic Zandvoort venue.
Finally, with confirmation from MotorSport Vision that the Lotus 1000KM will return, the final round of both series’ is set for Guy Fawkes night and will certainly be a day to remember.
