A group of (mainly) Lotus owners are turning their spare time into money for some great charities, this is the Club Le Mons 365 Challenge. In 12 months, 9 people aim to raise £50,000 for Make A Wish and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and have a lot of fun in the process!
Nine people, with the same passion for all things automotive, square off against each other to prove that a £2,500 sports car can be as much fun as a £250,000 super car. Why spend “house money” when you can spend, eh, “really expensive shed money”. With tests, challenges and activities watch our drivers earn and lose points all in the hope of becoming the Le Mons Champion.
It’s also an opportunity to help some amazing charities. You, the public, get to play a huge role in helping us support some really good charitable causes. Vote for your favourite driver or car, enter our raffle, donate at the events, or support us in other ways and help us give back to those who need it more than we do.
What’s the point in doing all of this if we can’t share it with family and friends? And if we’re sharing it with them, then why not share it with the world? So it’s being filmed! We want to entertain with our antics, our moments of glory and our moments of complete failure. And to make it even more interesting we’re going to look at car culture in the UK; what drives people to buy super cars, why do some go on track days, what’s the big deal with being a member of the MX5 owners club, is everyone who owns a Saxo with a loud exhaust called Gaz?
And lastly, it’s about being a member of a non marque specific club. Car clubs are fantastic resources, full of technical expertise and useful tips. Club Le Mons is not. It’s just us and anybody who likes cars whatever the badge! We banter, we argue, we agree and we take that part of our lives that sucks up so much time and money, and experience that with other people who do the same.
9 Cars, 9 Drivers, 2 charities, a camera crew and 365 days to make a difference.
With your support we’d love to see them meet and beat their target. Please visit their website, love their facebook page and tweet to them on their twitter and you can donate directly via their website by either picking a car and driver or just donating to the club. We wish them all the best for the year and look forward to keeping you up to date with regular news to help you follow their progress.
