On the first weekend of each August about 250 drivers come from around Australia to participate in a 2 day regularity event at one of Australia’s great tracks on Phillip Island. Both Club Lotus Australia and Lotus Club Victoria have been regular supporters and this year entered a total of 4 teams, each with 4 drivers, for the 10thAnniversary event.
Lotus and Clubman cars made up 10% of the total field and enjoyed a weekend of single figure temperatures, wind and (mostly) great track conditions to get between two and three hundred km of track driving each for the weekend. Lotus were represented by a range of Elise and Exige cars and had team members from as far away as Mackay in Queensland, 2,500km north. A great showing for the marque and a top 10 finish for one of the teams made for a memorable weekends motorsport ‘down under’.
