Fenn leads Hall

Rob Fenn narrowly defeated Adrian Hall in round three of Lotus Cup UK as the championship supported the DTM at Brands Hatch. The pair, who both suffered poor starts to their seasons, battled throughout the hour-long race, with the lead changing hands but two decisive moves from Fenn signalled his determination to win.

The first came in the early stages and as Fenn ran around the outside of Hall through both Paddock Hill and Druids bends, he had the inside line for Graham Hill to take the lead. Later on amongst traffic, a fine exit from Graham Hill enabled him to secure the win. Ken Savage drove a strong race to third, ahead of Simon Deacon and the Benji/Freddie Hetherington Exige. The Production win was taken by Stuart Plotnek.

Adam Gore and Luigi Mazza shared the wins in two entertaining Elise Trophy encounters, with the latter starting from the back row after being excluded from qualifying, in which he had recorded the fastest time. Mazza drove a pair of storming races but was unable to demote Gore in the opener, whilst second time around they both battled until Gore was collected by a spinning Nigel Hannam. Martin Wills and Craig Denman completed the podium, with Adam Knight taking third in the earlier event.

The next round of Lotus Cup UK takes place at Oulton Park next month.
