With a record crowd and scorching hot weather Lotus had their biggest showing yet at the Festival of Speed and had the UK premier of the 2013 Esprit, it’s first public outing on home ground. Around 180,000 people are attended the show over the 3 public days making it the biggest attendance in the event’s 19 year history showing that the FoS is now a firm favourite garden party and one of the UK’s biggest car shows. ‘King of the Hill’ this year with the fastest time up the Goodwood Hill Climb was Dan Collins in the Classic Team Lotus 88B/1, well done Dan!
Lotus Cars had on display the Esprit, the Elise Club Racer (which we reviewed here), Dany Bahar’s own 2002 Esprit V8 (more images here), the Evora S and IPS on the ‘Road Proven’ half of the stand and a selection of race cars, new and old on the ‘Race Perfect’ half. Classic Team Lotus had a huge display of cars both in the static area and heading up the hill and Lotus Renault GP entertained the crowd with the car engine playing ‘God Save The Queen’ through various RPM changes! Enjoy the pictures.
