Craig Denman won both Elise Trophy races at Zandvoort this weekend in spectacular style. After losing his clutch in the free practice session, the Welshman failed to set a qualifying time and had to start both races from the back of the grid at the Dutch seaside circuit.

Steve Quick, Ben Hyland and Andy Dolan fought a titanic battle for the lead in race one and with none of the trio able to make a break, Denman remained within striking distance whilst he worked his way up the field. Passing podium finishers Hyland and Quick in one great move, he went on to take the flag in first place.

Denman was made to work harder in race two as pole-sitter Adam Bewsey joined the race one trio of Dolan, Hyland and Quick, making it a tough fight for the earlier winner. The Dolan and Hyland came off the track at high speed but the latter recovered to finish fourth. Bewsey and Quick completed the podium.

The first of two overseas visits, the series will race once again at Spa later this year.
